HP JetDirect Print Server

Description

The HP JetDirect Print Server serves two purposes, it allows you to offload your print jobs to the external server, freeing up your computer’s resources and it allowed all of your networked computers to send their print jobs to the server.  Without a print server you would have to have a dedicated computer that hosted the printer, which would have to always be on and would have to have its resources tied up any time someone sent a print job to the printer.  In a time where processors were processors only had one core and one thread, this was a great relief.  

We have 3 models available:

A) HP JetDirect EX (J2382B): Has a bidirectional IEEE 1284 parallel-port, and a network side offering 10Base-T (RJ-45) plus 10Base2 (BNC/thinnet coax), running at 10 Mbps, enabling functionality for both Ethernet and coax/thinnet networks . It can use TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, EtherTalk/AppleTalk, and DLC/LLC, so it speaks to Mac, PC, and Unix hosts. 

B) HP JetDirect EX Plus (J2591A): Has a bidirectional IEEE 1284 parallel-port, and a network side offering 10Base-T (RJ-45) plus 10Base2 (BNC/thinnet coax), running at 10 Mbps, enabling functionality for both Ethernet and coax/thinnet networks . It can use TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, EtherTalk/AppleTalk, and DLC/LLC, so it speaks to Mac, PC, and Unix hosts.  Comes with Hardware and Software Installation Guide.

C) HP JetDirect 300X (J3263A): Has a bidirectional IEEE 1284 parallel port, and a single RJ-45 capable of 10Base-T or 100Base-TX speeds with autonegotiation, 2 MB of RAM onboard. In addition to TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, EtherTalk/AppleTalk, and DLC/LLC, it also add functionality for NDS, NDPS, SNMP, DHCP/WINS/DDNS, BOOTP, and LPD. Comes with Software Installation Guide.
