Description
PowerBook 500 series were the first to introduce the trackpad and dual swappable bays for either two batteries or a battery and a PCMCIA card slot in 1994. They feature a 68LC040 processor, 9.5″ grey scale passive matrix display, 1.44Mb disk drive, it also has Mini-15 port for connecting a external monitor. Sold as is!

A) 520. M4880. 25MHz. Won’t power on. No chime. Has the rear i.o door. Comes with dual batteries installed. The hinges are pretty stiff causing the bezel plastic to pop off of the front of the display there is a corner piece missing from this part. Has a sticker on middle of the lid.
B) 540c. M4880. 33MHz. Powers and chimes will boot off of 1.44MB disk but always has a bomb error or wrong disk for this system error. Screen looks nice. Has dual batteries installed. Cover missing over the display connector board as it popped off because of the hinges being super stiff its also made the bottom of the display case separate. Hold the bottom of the display near the hinges to help open or close.
