Macintosh PowerBook 160, M4550. 1992 model features a 25MHz 68030 processor. They came with 4 MB RAM and a 40-120 MB hard drive. It has a 9.8″ grayscale passive matrix display with support for 8-bit color on an external monitor, and a 1.4MB floppy disk drive. This model also reintroduced SCSI Disk Mode (HD Target Mode) allowing you to mount your PowerBook HD on another Mac – with the right cable.
Select One:
A) SN: FC2484F7452. Powers on and chimes. Has rear I/O door. Hinges starting to get a little bit stiff. It sounds like the hard drive may be booting and it will boot from a floppy – you can hear it. Screen has some light showing, but doesn’t display anything. Photos are of this one except last two.
B) SN: FC246689452. Powers on and chimes. Has rear I/O door. Hinges starting to get a little bit stiff. Hard drive seems to spin up but nothing happens. Will boot from System 7.5 floppy, but screen is very very dim. Second to last photo – failed to capture the dim images but they are there.
C) SN: FC322DK8451. Powers on no chime. Screen is degraded so no image just amber color and what looks like lots of little cracks underneath the top layer. No Hard drive or floppy. No rear I/O door. No battery. Hinges move nicely. Case looks good except a piece that cracked off under the screw under the modem port. Last photo.
