Power Macintosh 8100, Model 1688. When introduced in March 1994 at $4200, it was the fastest Power Mac.

The Power Mac 8100 & 8100/AV below feature an 80 MHz PowerPC 601 processor, an Apple CD-ROM 300 Plus drive and a 1.44MB floppy disk drive. Shipped with System 7.1.2, they can run up to OS 9.1 and can support up to 264MB memory.

All will come with a power cable. The Apple Design Keyboard (not included) was released at the same time.

A) XB44015G1GZ – Power Mac 8100/80, This Mac comes equipped with 88MB of RAM, and a 500MB hard disk with a new install of OS 8.0. Apple HPV video card. Light to medium discoloration on the front and rear plastics and the top case looks to be in nice condition and has feet.

B) No SN – Power Mac 8100/80, This Mac comes equipped with 112MB of RAM, and a 620 MB hard drive. Running OS 8.5, it is loaded with apps and games. The case has light to medium discoloration on the front and back plastics and the top case nice condition and has feet.

C) XC43804Z1H0 – Power Mac 8100/80/AV, This Mac comes equipped with 32MB of RAM, an Apple AV Card, and a 500 MB hard drive with a new install of OS 8.0. The case has medium discoloration on the back, severe discoloration on the front case, and top case is in good condition and has feet.

Caution: The plastic tabs on the faceplates and elsewhere are very brittle and will likely break if you try to remove them. You can get to all the internal parts by removing the entire case by sliding it forward from the rear.
